GENERAL INFORMATION
WHO CAN PLAY?

All players must be 18 years of age or older.
WAIVERS:

All players, including subs, must complete an online waiver prior to playing in any league or event.
OFFICIATING:

All leagues are self-officiated.
ECs: These leagues have Event Coordinators (ECs) who help coordinate leagues by accessing equipment, setting up courts and reporting scores. ECs play for FREE. If you are interested in being an EC, please email info@edmontonsportsclub.com
HOW TO REGISTER:

All registrations can be submitted online. If you are unable to pay via credit card online, you can pay via cash or debit at the ESSC Office.
CANCELLATIONS:
Cancellations must be submitted 2 business days prior to the registration deadline in order to receive a full refund. After this time, no player or team will be eligible for a full or partial refund or credit.
WEATHER POLICY:

For outdoor sports, all players should be familiar with the weather policy. Courts are never closed

DEFAULTS:

All players should understand the default policy.
SCHEDULES:

Schedules are posted a minimum of 2 business days before the first game of the season.
GAME TIMES:

Weekday games may have start times ranging from 6:00PM to 8:30PM.Weekend games may start anywhere from 12:00PM to 8:30PM. Sunday games will not be played on long weekends. Monday games will be scheduled on long weekends. Games will be scheduled during major sporting events.
PLAYER REQUIREMENTS:

4's: 4 players on the court, 1 of which must be female. There is no limit to team roster size.
6's: 6 players on the court, 2 of which must be female. There is no limit to team roster size.

2's: 2 players on the court, one of which must be female. There is no limit to team roster size.
EQUIPMENT:

Posts, nets and lines are supplied by the courts. The ESSC provides balls, scoreboards, and score clips which are stored at the courts. The EC will ensure each court has two balls and one scoreboard.
PLAYER MEETINGS: There are no Players Meetings for Beach Volleyball teams or individuals.
SCORES: ECs report the scores to the ESSC.
FACILITIES: All games are played on private courts throughout the City. Any player or team which causes the ESSC to receive a complaint from a facility will be subject to a $100 fine plus the cost of any damages. To learn more, click here. To learn more about the ESSC beach courts, Click Here.
SEASON LENGTH:
7 Weeks
For summer Sunday leagues, there will be 8 games played in 7 weeks throughout the season (including playoffs). For single game sports the double header will be scheduled at some point in the regular season. For sports where teams face two opponents a day/night, the double header will be split over two weeks.There may be instances where byes are scheduled due to facility availability or holidays, meaning that the season may be played over 7 - 9 weeks.
8 Weeks
There will be 8 weeks of games throughout the season (including playoffs). There may be instances where byes are scheduled due to facility availability or holidays, meaning that the season may be played over 8 - 10 weeks
16 Weeks
There will be 16 weeks of games throughout the season (including playoffs). There may be instances where byes are scheduled due to facility availability or holidays, meaning that the season may be played over 16 - 18 weeks
