DIVISION
DESCRIPTIONS
|
Division
|
Description |
Recreational |
This
division is for teams or players that are new to the sport.
Mainly bumping and setting, teams will try for 3 hits.
No hard hitting is allowed. Team goal: get it over the
net – it doesn’t matter how! |
Intermediate |
This
division is for teams or players that have mixed skill level.
Three hits is the goal, with decent ball control while bumping
or setting. Except to see some hitting and blocking, although
hard hitting is not encouraged and you will not typically see
strong or organized attacks. Team goal: try to have 3
hits on every play. |
Intermediate Plus |
This
division is for teams or players that are able to pass with
accuracy and have the ability to set organized attacks.
Players rotate and play set positions on the court and have
a skilled setter. This level will see 3 hits each possession
with a strong attack game. |
Competitive |
This
division is for teams or players that are highly skilled and
have a lot of experience playing organized volleyball.
This is a fast-paced division where you will see organized attacks,
plays, and positional players. Skilled setters are able
to run plays for shoot sets, back-row attacks, and other types
of plays. Players must be able to pass accurately off
of hard serves to the setter in this division. |
