ESSC FLAG FOOTBALL INFORMATION

REGISTRATION DEADLINE NOW IN EFFECT |
Please take note of the
registration deadline of Tuesday April 20th, 2010. Prior to this deadline,
all registrants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis; the closer
to February 17th that you get your registration in, the better your chances
are of making it into the league of your choice. After April 20th, if we
require registrants, we will advertise any spots that are available. |
General Description

ESSC
Flag Football is a non-contact, 'fun-first' league. Flag Football
is perfect for the football enthusiast who wants to avoid injury
while having a blast with their friends and getting a good workout!
After the game, enjoy ESSC specials at one of our many Sponsor
Bars around Edmonton. |
Who Can Play?
|
The
ESSC is an adult league only. All player’s must be 18 years
of age, or older, before they participate in any ESSC league or
event. We accept all levels of skill and experience by offering
a wide range of divisions. We welcome full team, small group,
individual and substitute registrations. |

Division
|
Description |
| Recreational |
This
division is for teams and individuals who are either new or just
looking for a friendly match. Teams or individuals should
have basic knowledge of football and there will be some coordinated
plays in this division. A female must be an integral player
in at least 1 play of the 4 ‘downs’ or scrimmage. |
| Recreational Plus |
This
division is for teams or players that have flag football experience
and are familiar with positions on the field and looking to run
coordinated plays. A female must be an integral player in
at least 1 play of the 4 ‘downs’ or scrimmage. |
The above descriptions are created based on skill level and not on competitive behaviour. All SSC players are expected to play with a 'fun-first, winning second' attitude. The SSC may move your team up or down a division based on seasonal results |

HOW DO I REGISTER?
|
All players should register and
pay online using our secure registration process. Registering
online helps ensure you get placed in the league of your choice,
as registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
If you do not have a credit card, you can come to the office,
during regular business hours, to pay by either cash or debit.

Facility Information
|
ESSC
Flag Football is played on various fields throughout the City.
Fields used are both public and private. Any team or player
who causes the ESSC to receive a complaint from a facility will
be fined $100 and may be removed from the league. For full details,

Equipment
|
All players are required to bring
a light and dark colored shirt to every game. Please see the Rules
section for legal equipment before purchasing your own gear. The
EC is responsible for bringing equipment to the field. |

Format/Rosters
|
All
leagues are co-ed. Teams range in size from 10-13 players. Individual
and small group registrants are combined to form full “Singles”
teams that play together for the duration of the season. “Singles”
teams will receive a roster via email 2 days before their first
game. Games are one hour in length which includes a 5 minute warm-up
and 5 minute half time. |

Schedules

Schedules
will be posted on the website, and emailed to participants, no
later then 2 days prior to their first game. Games will not be
scheduled on long weekend Sundays, but may be scheduled on long
weekend Mondays. |

the event of a rain out or double header, games may start at 6

Calling the Shots
|
All
players are expected to be on time, call their own fouls and abide
by ESSC rules and polices. There is one Event Coordinator per
four teams (2 fields) on each game night, but they are there only
to run the games, they are NOT responsible for making calls.
The Event Coordinator will enter the scores for the fields they
are playing at. |
Additional Information
|
Players Meetings: The ESSC may or may not, depending on the season, host mandatory
Players Meetings and/or require new Team Captains and individuals complete an online Player Questionnaire. This will be specified on the registration form. |
Waiver: All players are expected to complete
a waiver prior to playing in any ESSC league or event. One waiver
per player, per season is sufficient. To complete the waiver,

Reporting Scores: One player from each team, typically
the captain, is responsible for reporting the game scores to the
Event Coordinator at the end of your game. The Event Coordinator
will have a score sheet with them for captains to write their
scores down on. |
Field Permits: The Event Coordinator will bring
all necessary permits to the field to verify booking times. |
Weather Policy: The ESSC provides daily updates
