***NEW FALL 2008 LEAGUE OFFERING: 5 WEEK OUTDOOR SOCCER LEAGUE***

It doesn't matter what sport you're playing, everyone is welcome to register for our events.

ABOUT THE SPORT

Get outdoors this season and play Soccer with the ESSC. It’s a great way to get fit, work on your eye-foot coordination and to have fun with your team. It’s a 6 on 6 game including the goalies, with a minimum of two females on the field at all times. We offer Recreational, Recreational Plus and Intermediate divisions. All players are expected to call their own fouls and manage the game. We encourage you to play with a ‘fun-first’ attitude at our various medium sized fields around the city and to visit one of our official Sponsor Bars after the games.

  WHO CAN PLAY?

Adults aged 18 and older can join the Outdoor Soccer leagues. All Outdoor Soccer divisions in the ESSC are co-ed and self-officiated. The levels offered include Recreational, Recreational Plus, and Intermediate. A description of each league's skill level is provided below. We welcome full teams, small groups (5 to 8 players but not a full team), friends (2-4 players) and individual registrations. Small group, friends and individual registrations are combined with other similiar registrants to form a team that remains together for the duration of the season. Click here for more info.

  ESSC LEAGUE DETAILS
Season Dates The Fall 2008 outdoor soccer league begins the week of September 21, 2008 and will run no later than the week of October 26, 2008. The schedule will consist of 5 nights of play.
Rosters A full line-up consists of 6 on the field, minimum 2 women (a female goalie does not count toward the 2 female minimum requirement). We recommend teams of 9-12.

All players that participate in the league must sign the ESSC waiver.

Captains who register and pay for a full team retain complete control over their rosters, and can add or remove players as they see fit.

Singles and Small Group registrants are combined to form teams for the full season. Singles teams will receive their roster by email 48 hours in advance of their first game.
Cost

- $270/team (5 week Sunday League),

- $50/individual or friends (1-4 people)

- $40/person for small group (5-8 people).

Facility Information Soccer fields are located throughout the city and are smaller than regulation size to accomodate 5 on 5 play (plus a goalie). Each field has goal posts.
Equipment ESSC provides field markers and a Wilson game ball to each captain/team before the start of the season. Teams provide a $20 deposit at equipment pick ups. The times and dates of equipment pickups will be posted on the main page of the ESSC website when they are determined. Deposits are refunded if equipment is returned at the end of the season. Players MUST bring light and dark shirts to each game. METAL CLEATS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
Schedules

Sunday games may start anytime after 12pm but typically no earlier then 4pm. Schedules will be posted to the website no later than 48 hours prior to the first game.

Note: The ESSC may have to schedule more than one game in an evening if games have been cancelled due to weather or other unforseen circumstances where make-up games are necessary.

Team Captains
Team Captains are responsible for ensuring the appropriate permit is brought to every game. The permit can be downloaded off of the website at season start. Team Captains are also responsible for reporting the scores for their games online.
Weather Policy The ESSC provides daily game updates that indicate whether or not games have been cancelled due to poor weather conditions. To view our entire weather policy, please click here.
Calling the Shots All players in ESSC Soccer leagues are responsible for keeping score, calling their own fouls and managing the game.
